Who knew baby powder could be so confusing to buy? The 3 problems:

1. Talc 👎🏻
2. Synthetic fragrance 👎🏻 (we discussed on the baby bath soap post that a lot of synthetic fragrance is full of phthalates which are endocrine disrupters).
3. Corn starch 👎🏻(If taken from glyphosate sprayed gmo crops).
.

Problem with talc:
(Directly taken from the American Cancer Society website):
.
The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) is part of the World Health Organization (WHO). Its major goal is to identify causes of cancer.
.
IARC classifies talc that contains asbestos as “carcinogenic to humans.”
.
Based on limited evidence from human studies of a link to ovarian cancer, IARC classifies the perineal (genital) use of talc-based body powder as “possibly carcinogenic to humans.” END OF QUOTE
.
The first talcum powder ovarian cancer lawsuit was won against Johnson & Johnson in federal court in 2013. One of the leading experts in talcum-related cancer research, Dr. Daniel Cramer, testified on behalf of the plaintiff and suggested talc has been the cause of a number of ovarian cancers throughout the years. During the course of the trial, a Johnson & Johnson attorney also admitted the company was aware of the link between talcum powder and cancer.

👉🏻Look at the lawsuits since (pic). The one in 2018 was huge. But guess what? TALCUM BABY POWDER IS STILL SOLD ON THE STORE SHELVES TODAY. Please help me educate others that there is a BETTER choice out there! The BEST choice options can all be bought at Target or Amazon.

👉🏻If you used talc filled baby powder as a mom, like I did. Don’t beat yourself up about it. At the time, I didn’t know better. At first I felt so guilty. Then I realized there was nothing I could do to change the past, but that I could educate myself to buy better choices in the future!
