Sprouted Nuts

Sprouting- Growing up, I LOVED roasted nuts. Then when I was on my health journey, I realized a lot of roasted nuts contained inflammatory GMO ingredients like vegetable oils, corn maltodextrin, yeast, hydrolyzed corn and soy 😥. (1)

It’s hard to find a good roasted AND flavored nut. But I found a flavored nut that’s even sprouted! Huge bonus! Finding flavored nuts with good ingredients is so hard, so to find one that has good ingredients & sprouted is AMAZING! Check out my last pic.

Why SPROUTED NUTS❓
1️⃣”Sprouted” refers to the process of the nut germinating or growing a sprout in order for it to start growing into a plant. Because sprouting breaks down the seed, it means less work for your body and better for digestion. (2)

2️⃣Activating (soaking/sprouting) nuts “increases the nutrient value of the food, along with breaking down the problematic compounds that help enhance their digestibility. Eating large amounts of raw nuts may place extra strain on your digestive system and may cause things like bloating, cramping & nausea. 3️⃣Sprouting decreases the phytic acid. This phytic acid prevents your body from absorbing all of the nutrients the nut has to provide.

4️⃣Sprouting helps metabolize the lectins and increases the enzymes phytase and amylase, which make sprouted grains much more tolerable to the digestive system (4)

If you can’t find a sprouted nut, the next best option are raw organic nuts. If you can’t afford organic, then next best is raw.

Little interesting fact about raw nuts... these help you feel full and satisfy hunger for a longer period of time than roasted nuts because they’re digested slower and they swell more from stomach acid. (5)
