Shaving Cream

👨‍👦‍👦Father’s Day👔 - with Father’s Day this week let’s talk about some things fathers use and like. So first up, shaving cream!
.
Shaving cream actually can be a can of harsh chemicals. So when choosing a shaving cream make sure it has NO:
.
❌parabens (word will end in paraben)
❌artificial dye (yes even some of the white shaving creams use dye 🤣)
❌fragrance with phthalates (the phthalates are endocrine disruptors).
❌sulfates
❌BHT
❌isobutane
❌retinol
❌dea/mea/tea
❌formaldehyde releasors
.

According to the EWG, the formaldehyde releasor chemicals to avoid are:
.
DMDM hydantoin
Imidazolidinyl urea
Diazolidinyl urea
Quaternium-15
Bronopol (2-bromo-2-nitropropane-1,3-diol )
5-Bromo-5-nitro-1,3-dioxane
Hydroxymethylglycinate
.
Directly from the EPAs website on phthalates:
“The EPA is concerned about phthalates because of their toxicity and the evidence of pervasive human and environmental exposure to these chemicals.Phthalates are used in many industrial and consumer products, many of which pose potentially high exposure. Phthalates have been detected in food and also measured in humans”.
.
👏🏻Just FYI... these aren’t the only good shaving creams. There are lots out there. Other suggestions are Nurture My Body, Weleda, Shea Moisture, Young Living, Giovanni, Alba, Avalon Organics, and more. A lot of these can be found at Target, Walmart, and Amazon. So remember, there’s always a BETTER choice out there
