Popsicles

☀️Summer items 🏝- Popsicles. What kid doesn’t love a popsicle on a hot summer day? The problem? So many popsicles are made with high fructose corn syrup, red 40, blue 1, yellow 5, sucralose, ace-k, and artificial flavoring 👎🏻👎🏻.
.
👉🏻Now with so many better choice popsicles on the market, there is no need to feed our kids such bad ingredients in a popsicle! And of course, homemade popsicles with organic fruit / fruit juice is the BEST option.
.
Popsicles can easily be made without high fructose corn syrup. HFCS has come under a lot of heat the past few years but it’s STILL in so many products!
.
Here are some reasons to avoid HFCS:
.
❌it is highly processed and typically made from GMO glyphosate sprayed corn.
.
❌high fructose corn syrup is also linked to non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (Journal of Hepatology)
.
❌a Global Public Health study showed that countries with a high availability of HFCS had a 20% increase in type 2 diabetes.
.
❌research from Princeton University concluded that consuming HFCS leads to “abnormal increases in body fat, especially in the abdomen and a rise in circulating bloods fats called triglycerides”. High concentrations of triglycerides in the blood indicate an elevated risk of stroke.
.
❌a UCLA study showed HFCS slows the brain, reduces learning and hampers learning. The same study also showed that consuming DHA (an essential omega 3 fat) helped reverse those harmful effects...incredible!
