My Story & Your Why

WHY are you on a health journey? WHY do you want to be educated and make changes? If you know your WHY, you’re more likely to make changes.
Since there are a lot of new people following now, let me introduce myself & tell you my WHY:
My name is Karalynne. I am a mom of 6 kids, ages 19 to 5. Over 15 years ago, I found myself with severe suicidal depression. I was prescribed an antidepressant and for the next 2 years I struggled with the medicine. It worked and kept me from being depressed, but it also kept me from truly feeling like myself. I went to doctor after doctor because I wanted to heal from this depression. No doctor knew how to heal from it. Instead, they kept telling me the best thing to do was to be on an anti depressant. I have nothing against being on medicine, but I wanted to be healed. 2 years later I found a doctor who said, YES you can heal from depression by cleaning up your gut, reducing your inflammation, and balancing your hormones. BUT, it will take work. Are you ready to work at it? YES! 18 months later of cleaning up my eating, beauty products, toxins in my life, and healing my gut I was off anti depressants and have never been back since.
Soon after, my then 35 year old sister was diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. She had a 10 month old, 2 year old, 5, and 9 year old at the time. She had to have an immediate double mastectomy, 16 months of intense chemo, followed by radiation daily for 6 weeks, and many surgeries to follow.
My sister's oncologist gave her 5 things that she had to do in order to help fight the cancer. They were:
1️⃣Do not eat any foods with partially hydrogenated oils.
2️⃣Stay away from all foods with hormones in them, especially within eggs, meat, and dairy.
3️⃣Use deodorant w/out aluminum in it.
4️⃣Cook with non teflon pans.
5️⃣Stay away from added sugar consumption, as well as artificial sugars.
Seeing that I healed from food and that my sister’s oncologist was using food in her fight for cancer, I then began to realize food really could be medicine or could be a contributor to our illnesses. And for the past 13 years I’ve been educating myself on all things heathy.
