Flavored Drinks

✨”Healthy” Food That Might Not Be So Healthy✨
CRYSTAL LIGHT - advertised as a nice refreshing drink to help with sugar cravings and it’s zero calories for those counting calories. Sounds perfect.
The problem. It’s full of:
❌sucralose
❌acesulfame potassium (ace-k)
❌artificial flavors (up to 100 different chemicals)
❌red 40, blue 1
❌soy lecithin
.
👉🏻Ace-k is composed of a potassium salt that contains methylene chloride. The methylene chloride for years has been shown to cause mood problems, cancer, impaired liver and kidney function, and problems with eye sight. (Center for Science in the Public Interest)
.
MIO WATER FLAVORING - Advertised by so many as a great option for you because it’s zero calories and you’re getting your b vitamins at the same time. But you’re also getting:
❌sucralose
❌acesulfame potassium (ace-k)
❌artificial flavors (up to 100 different chemicals)
❌red 40, blue 1
❌sucrose acetate isobutyrate
.
👉🏻Sucralose was originally made by creating an insecticide. It was never intended to be consumed. In 2016, the Center for Science in the Public Interest placed sucralose in its “avoid” category, due to a medical study that found its linked to leukemia in mice.

We are all on different health journeys. So don’t comment that the Spur or True Lemon are not good. I recognize, some would never drink those. But for LOTS of people, these are a much better choice than their daily Crystal Light. We don’t expect infants to walk at 1 month old. It’s the same philosophy with cleaning up your diet. It’s hard to go from all processed foods straight to all raw foods. So it’s baby steps and remembering there is always a BETTER CHOICE out there! So let’s applaud one other for just being on a health journey, no matter if you’re a beginner or an expert!
