Crackers

Items in your pantry - Crackers. My favorite type of crackers are sprouted crackers. I believe sprouted grains is the best way to eat grains, but since I don’t have the time to sprout every grain and home bake crackers, I love when companies sprout for me. And @simplemills has a variety of sprouted grains that my kids like the flavor of. 👏🏻
.
Why do I love sprouted grains?
.
👏🏻It breaks down the phytic acid that decreases the absorption of vitamins and minerals in the body. I like to think of it as the sprouting breaks open the the cage to the minerals and vitamins.
.
👏🏻The germinating process breaks down some of the starch(endosperm), which makes the percentage of nutrients higher.
.
👏🏻Sprouting helps metabolize the lectins and increases the enzymes phytase and amylase, which make sprouted grains much more tolerable to the digestive system.
.
👏🏻Sprouting has been shown to decrease gluten content in wheat by up to 47%, which may make sprouted grains easier to tolerate. (B)
.
👏🏻Nutrients that are better absorbed by the body after sprouting include folate, iron, vitamin C, vitamin Bs, zinc, magnesium, and protein.
.
👏🏻Because the germinating process breaks down some of the starchy endosperm, sprouted grains have less carbs.
.
What are sprouted grains❓
.
Sprouted grains are whole-grain seeds that have just begun to grow and aren't quite plants yet.
.

.
And I love that you can find @simplemills on Amazon and many local grocery stores.
.
Sprouting grains is quite easy to do at home. I have a highlight story on how to do that. But for ease and convenience, so grateful for companies like @simplemills providing sprouted crackers.
